hey all,

well in the last couple days I have been thinking of something someone said to me...
it was along the lines of
"You're not unique! You always have to do something crazy for attention.. you just cant be urself for it"

this hurt my feelings... and it still hurts. i told her something that was probably not right, but i didnt say one harmin word to her, and she snapped at me.

does anyone have tips for dealing with these hurtful words? i partially belive the statement. ugh and it just kills my day with no way to escape the pain, other then sleep.

Steven

Re: It hurts

hey Steven...

My dad once said to tell this to the people who made fun of me
"Sticks and Stones may break my bones
But words/names will never hurt me"
But it doesn't work, does it? Because words DO hurt....more than we can imagine.

Over a year or so ago, I was stuck in a class with the most immature bunch of people you could ever meet. One day, they began talking about a "cool" kid who got expelled for bullying (I was one of his victims). I said, more to myself, "Good Riddance" but someone overheard me and they called me a jerk and asked me why I was still here. It made me cry. The teacher said and did nothing. I went up to the teacher, who was one of my favorite teachers in high school, and asked him why he didn't do or say anything and he told me "What you said wasn't very nice," I spent the rest of the day crying because of how betrayed I felt.
